Website in a Day Workshop —

This is ideal for businesses looking to have a professional website setup that generates leads and can be managed in-house.

 
 

How is MP different?

Now that there are more website content management systems like Squarespace where it is easier to manage your website in house, it seems silly for some business to pay a high cost for a professional website. I work with you to have a professional and result driven website without the high costs.

What do you get?

Depending on the quantity of content you have ready before the workshop, at the end of the day you will end up with a website that is either completed or close to completition with a bit more work needed from yourself. Either way, you will be taught the skills needed to manage and grow the site with your business and support afterwards.

Where is it and what time?

The workshop runs through from 9am to 4pm. We stop an hour for lunch at 12pm. Usually it takes place at Collabor8te or if there is no availability there it will take place at your office. Please note that if you are outside the Central Belt in Scotland, travel will be added to the cost.

The Process —

1. Book a day and pay the 50% deposit

If after our call we decide that this is the right option for you, then I will send across the terms & conditions, proposal, pre-workshop form and invoice for the 50% deposit. Once the documents are signed and invoice paid then you will be booked in!

2. Fill out the pre-workshop form

Then you spend time completing the pre-workshop form which will help you structure your thoughts before the workshop and allow me to prepare a dummy site for when we meet. Please complete the questionnaire and send over your content/images at least three days before the workshop.

3. We meet to do the workshop

On the day, we meet at 9am to begin the workshop. The morning will consist of editing the layout and adding any new content together. You will be taught how to edit/upload content in this section and alter the design elements. In the afternoon we either move onto the other functionalities needed for the site. At the end of the day you will have a site ready to go live or close to if waiting on photos etc.

What you can expect from me:

  • You will receive a personalised, friendly, fun and efficient service from myself totally focused on you.

  • I’ll select the best template for your business goals and brand with a layout that is set up for conversions.

  • You’ll receive a PDF guide on how to use Squarespace.

  • You’ll receive ideas from myself, some left of field, along the way and a sincere passion to educate you in the myriad of opportunities available through online design and marketing related activities so that you can make educated and informed decisions.

  • I'll plan to use the website as a case study and will have a link on the website to my own on the one we create. If you would prefer this not to happen, please let me know.

What I expect from you:

  • You are prepared to invest time in completing the Pre-Workshop Homework Sheet by the agreed deadline. Without doing this, we will not be able to get as much done in the day and you will not leave with a website.

  • If you need to cancel or rearrange, you need to give at least 48 hours notice, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee of 20% of the cost to cover loss of meeting space.

  • Provide all the text content and any imagery at least three days before the workshop. If you are having issues with this, please get in touch.

  • Most of all, be honest about your previous website bug bears and be committed to getting everything needed done before the day and open to the process on the day.

Your investment - £300 —

 

Payments

After we have spoken, to book in the day I require a 50% deposit once the contract has been signed and the final balance is due at the end of the workshop. All payments are made online through Stripe. Please be fully aware that external costs such as Squarespace hosting, your domain, and email hosting.

Refund Policy

The deposit is refundable as follows: Up to 14 days before project start 100% refund. Up to 7 days before project start 50% refund. No refund within 7 days of project. Once the project has started the full amount of $2,250 is due and not refundable. You can and should contact me at any time if you have any concerns before or during the project.

Cancellation Policy

For up to 14 days before the workshop the deposit is refundable. For up to 7 days before the workshop, 50% of the deposit is refundable. And there is no refund within 7 days of the workshop. If there is an emergency and you need to reschedule, then this will be done on a per-situational basis. Once the workshop has started, the full amount is due at the end of the day. HOW CAN YOU MAKE WEBSITES SO QUICKLY?

Simply because I am efficient and have set up processes over the last couple of years that enable me to work quickly and to a high standard. 

CAN I PRESERVE MY SEO?

Changing to another platform may cause a temporary dip in established search ranking, but with Squarespace & myself that dip can be significantly reduced and brought back up.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ALL OF THE ASSETS READY?

Having the right assets is crucial to creating a great website. If you are stuck, please feel free to get in touch with me to help direct the collection process.

CAN'T I JUST HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE OR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT?

Facebook and Instagram is important and can drive traffic and sales, but it’s not a substitute for a website. The creative freedom is limited and there isn't room to grow your business as well. 

 

HOW DETAILED IS THE TRAINING?

It can be as detailed or as basic as you like. Most business owners with the website design packages like to know how to edit/upload the content and key areas for their business.

DO I NEED ANOTHER WEB HOST?

No, all of the Squarespace plans includes hosting. Helping you to keep everything in one place. 

CAN YOU JUST GIVE ME YOUR 20% DISCOUNT CODE?
